Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)
  • To achieve academic excellence so as to produce graduates who will emerge as recognized experts in the field of biomedical engineering.
  • To sensitize students through various courses/activities that enables them to understand the market dynamics so that they develop as competent Biomedical engineers having expertise in basic and applied research, design, and technology development, representing the fields of healthcare industry, academics, and government agencies.
  • To create a pool of highly skilled Biomedical Engineers and inculcate in them professional and ethical attitude, effective communication skills, teamwork skills and multidisciplinary approach.
  • To prepare students through rigorous and extensive courses to excel in postgraduate programmes.
  • To transform students into conscientious human beings possessing the right kind of values with highest form of emotional integrity.
  • To produce graduates who understand needs of society both nationally and internationally and contribute to the overall economic development of the nation through ethical practice of engineering.
  • To invoke dormant entrepreneurial instinct in students.
  • Creating instructional content based on cognitive science and load theories to promote various abilities, style and leveraging ICT techniques for collaborative project execution/ management and learning.
Programme Outcomes(PO)
  1. Graduates have the ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering.
  2. Graduates develop the necessary skills to design, conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data.
  3. Graduates have the ability to design systems, subassemblies, components, or processes to meet product and process requirement within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability and sustainability.
  4. Graduates have the ability to work with multidisciplinary team of engineers to design projects and to participate in various roles and contribute to accomplishing the task at hand.
  5. Graduates have the ability to identify, conceptualize, formulate, and solve engineering problems.
