Student’s performance and extracurricular activities
Students at TSEC excel in their academics and are known to hold rank in the University. In addition to academic excellence, students are known as able sportspersons, who have represented the college at several inter and intrastate colleges. The students have represented the college in the National Team of Dance, Drama, Badminton, Swimming and Rifle Shooting. Since 1995, TSEC has been hosting the “Inter-Engineering Football tournament” which presents Rotating Trophies to Winner and Runner-up teams. Every year, TSEC organizes “TSEC Marathon” of about 8 to 10 kilometers in Bandra where thousands of people from all over Mumbai participate for a good cause. TSEC has been hosting the “Inter-Engineering Cultural Festival” TRIFLES since the academic year 2000, which presents a platform for students from various colleges to interact with one another and showcase their talents along with some fun events.
TSEC is recognized by the Institution of Engineers (India) and also has Students Chapters of Computer Society of India (CSI-TSEC), Institute of Engineers (India) (IE(I)-TSEC), Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE-TSEC), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE-TSEC), Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE-TSEC). Along with these, TSEC has its own Clubs namely Monte Carlo Localizers’ (MCL-TSEC) consisting of Photographers, Designers and Content Writers, interfacing all the events of TSEC socially and Mobile Apps Developers’ (MAD Club – TSEC) that develops and maintains the official TSEC mobile app.
Social Outreach & Contributing to further the cause of immediate neighbourhood & Society at large
We are one of the first colleges in Mumbai University to start an NSS program for Engineering Students. Projects carried out by NSS are very useful to society as a whole and also helps students to develop all round skills which are extremely useful in this extra competitive world. The highlights of the last two years of projects are:
1) Blood Donation Drive
2) Child Care Project
3) Residential camp in Rural Area
4) Bandra Station Project
5) Energy Audit of College.
The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA- TSEC) was initiated in 2019 with the vision of transformational change in rural development of the villages in India. Under this program, TSEC has adopted Anandwadi, Ambewadi, Fanaswadi, Dhaki Cha Mal, Tapalwadi and these were the following events:
1) Watershed Management in association with MHRD, AICTE, Paani Foundation, Mumbai University, and NSS-TSEC
2) Joy of Giving
3) “GyaanDan” – to educate the children in the adopted villages of Neral
4) “Technovation” – to bring Science and Technology a step closer to our adopted villages
Projects undertaken and financial aid from AICTE
We have successfully completed two research projects on “System Automation” and “Fiber Optics Communication System” assigned by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and has received research grants of Rs.5 Lacs and Rs.5.5 Lacs respectively. Last academic year 2011-2012 we got 25 lacs worth aid for modernization of laboratories under MODROB scheme.
